You do, don't you? I've had a goal of someday venturing down to Island Beach State Park, in Seaside Park New Jersey to specifically photograph this iconic, dilapidated structure called the Judges Shack. Now, you see, I've been to IBSP before but never knew where the Judges Shack was located. Recently I procured it's location and just last weekend photographed it during the day. Why is that notable, I'll get to that later.
The shack is located in Area 12 of IBSP. Now that might not seem like a big deal but IBSP is over 3000 acres so precise locations are pretty important. Area 12 is located at approximately mile marker 6 on the 8 mile long island. As you can see it sits on the dunes next to one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been on, including California and the Caribbean Islands. The structure is not very picturesque but it can stand on it's own even in that location.
So, you might be thinking that I've attained my goal and now I move on..... no! My next venture to this landmark building will be to shoot some astro-photography with either star trails, a time-lapse, or the Milky Way. No small feat you see, a special permit is required and a trunk of fishing gear in order to stay late into the night.
I've seen pictures from other photographers and they all have that "WOW" thing going for them. Something I've certainly just added to my bucket list.
Now I'm sure you have that photography bucket list going and I'd love to know what's at the top and within your grasp in the next 6 months, so why not let us know what it is and maybe we can all provide some inspiration for you to get there. Let us know one item on that list in the comments section and maybe we can get some dialogue going to get you there. Cause, you know we've all got one.....
