I got introduced to this beautiful spot by a local I had just met who just happen to be from the same town I grew up in. It truly is a small world.
As we came through the tree lined path to Silver Mine Lake I couldn't wait to plant my tripod and get this shot. Not often do clouds line up quite this perfect. I took a few shots with my Graduated ND filter to equalize the sky to the trees and liked the result but I couldn't resist pressing the shutter button for several rounds of brackets. With one round at 1 stop increments and another at 2 stop increments I was pretty comfortable with the fact that I picked up all the details in the highlights and shadows.
Well, if you know me well enough you'll probably guess that I utilized the bracketed shots to produce this shot. I don't know, I liked both the single shot and the merged but, as usual, I picked the tone-mapped one to post here.
On another note, I posted this on flickr and it got Explored. I woke up this morning to over 24,000 views. That makes a photographer feel good.
As always thanks for looking!
